I recall fondly the days when we’d pack a bag of snacks and water and trek to the parks as a family. The last time we did that was for Mom’s swearing in ceremony at Epcot. It was such a cool experience! Afterward, we celebrated with food from around the world and of course, the obligatory turkey leg.
These days, when the Frog Princess and I head to the park we go expecting adventures both outside and inside of our bellies.
It’s always a treat to take a break from all of the fun and take in some yummy nutrients that’ll help keep our energy up for the rest of the day.
Meeting the Characters
If you recall, we had a fantastic time when we took the Frog Princess to Tusker House Restaurant for her 3rd birthday. Not only was the food delicious but we got to hangout with some very special characters! You can’t beat that. Having a buffet meant that I could taste all that my heart desired which is usually what my belly likes best.
“Mami, is this healfy?” This is a question I hear a lot from the girl (also: not a typo. She says it with an F and it’s too adorable for me to correct). It’s hard to teach good eating habits when donuts and brownies are in this world. At Anaheim Produce, we get our fruits and veggies and our favorite: frozen lemonade! I usually have 3 sips before a certain someone snags it from me.
Dining at a Resort
One of my favorite spots to hit while at the Walt Disney World Resorts Is Disney’s Art of Animation. You guise! This place is soooo cool.
I can’t draw or paint but in there I feel like I could paint the Tower of Pizza. Well, maybe. I can certainly eat a tower of pizza at Landscape of Flavors. Surrounded by art, motion and color, I always feel re-energized and ready to paint the town red when I leave there.
Of course, when we are at the Magic Kingdom® Park, the absolute must-eat place is Be Our Guest Restaurant. With 3 rooms to dine in: The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing & The Castle Gallery, no wonder everyone rushes to the Beast’s castle for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I tell folks all the time that Walt Disney World has dining options for every taste bud and every budget.
The big tip for me with dining: if you’re staying at any of the Walt Disney World resorts, be sure to take a look at the dining plans and select one that will work for you and your family. It makes things easier while you’re busy living the magic!
